Ayer me dio por escuchar a los Blues Brothers, y cuando llegué a esta canción y me puse a escuchar la letra me dí cuenta de que es otra de las miles de canciones que tienen las drogas como tema de fondo. Es una canción de Jazz que fue grabada por primera vez en 1931 por Cab Calloway y su orquesta. Os dejo las letras y canción para que la escuchéis.

Las referencias a las drogas son las siguientes:
"Smoky... he was cokey" quiere decir que Smoky le daba a la cocaína.
La frase "kicking the gong around" es argot para hacer referencia a fumar opio.
La frase "million dollars worth of nickels and dimes" hace referencia a la forma de venta de la marihuana en aquella época. Un "nickels" era una bolsa con 1/8 de onza y un "dime" una bolsa con 1/4 de onza (una onza equivale a 28 gramos aproximadamente).
